Late Night Fridays and Saturdays

Turks is open until 10pm on Friday and Saturday nights (except 7 May). The Restaurant, bar, café and shop are open late. Enjoy free live Turkish music on Friday nights, free jazz on Saturday nights, free gallery talks and other special events. The restaurant and bar are open from 6.15pm to 10pm (last orders for food 8.30pm). We recommend tables for dinner are booked in advance on 020 7300 5608.

Late Night Fridays

Live Turkish music from two rotating companies, Ian East & Balkanatics, and Numan Elyer and performers.

Ian East and Balkanatics are a Balkan-inspired trio with a Turkish repertoire. This trio combine dynamic percussion with the unique sound of the accordion, sax or zurna (Turkish oboe). Turkish percussionists, Numan Elyer and Bektas Demirkaya, will entertain visitors with the rhythmic sounds of the darbuka (hourglass shaped drum), tambourine, framedrum and klarenet. Both groups have a contemporary Turkish sound and draw from traditional influences.

Late Night Saturdays

Live regular jazz for the first four Saturdays the exhibition is open from Sebastian Pipe Jazz Trio and Sam Crockatt jazz company.

Our live music begins at 6.30pm (until c.9pm) outside the restaurant in the foyer at the bottom of the Norman Shaw Staircase, and is free for everyone to enjoy.
